Privacy policy

We collect as little as possible and never sell data on. This policy explains what we do process, why, and which rights you have.

Who processes your data

Controller: Wiener & Co., Zeeweg 18, 3233 CV Oostvoorne, Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 98977806. Privacy questions: support@wienerandco.com.

Which data, and why

Order data (name, address, email address, products ordered, payment status): needed to fulfil your order, ship it and keep you informed. Legal basis: performance of the sales contract.

Customer service data (email correspondence, the measurements you share about your dachshund): needed to answer your question and give fitting advice. Legal basis: legitimate interest in good service.

Chat data (your messages to Jennifer, the page and product choice at that moment, your feedback and a random chat id kept on your device so the conversation continues): needed to answer your question and to improve Jennifer. Legal basis: legitimate interest in good service.

Analytics data (pages visited, device type): only with your prior consent via the cookie banner. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

The measurements you enter in the size finder are stored locally on your own device (localStorage) and are not sent to us, unless you tick the box asking us to email you the size card, or you join the waiting list because no size fits yet. If you do, we store chest girth, neck girth, the type, whether you ticked puppy, the date of the measurement and the advice given alongside your email address, so we can send you that size card and so we can tell later whether the size still holds. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Without that tick we send nothing and store nothing.

Who we share data with

Our shop runs on Shopify; Shopify processes order and payment data as a processor on our behalf. Delivery is handled by the carrier of your shipment, which receives your name and address for that purpose. We never sell or rent personal data.

If you pay with Klarna or another payment service, that provider processes your payment data as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy.

If you consent to statistics or marketing, Google Ireland Limited processes data about your visit through Google Tag Manager and the measurement services configured in it: pages viewed, device type and IP address. If you decline, we do not load Google at all: no request reaches Google and no cookies are placed. If you withdraw consent you gave earlier, we delete the Google cookies that were already set. Google may transfer data to the United States; that transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

If you use the chat with Jennifer, your chat data is processed by service providers working on our behalf: Supabase (storage of the conversation and your feedback) and OpenRouter, which forwards your question to the provider of the language model that writes the reply. Do not type personal data into it; none is needed for an answer. This processing can take place outside the EU.

Newsletter and stock notices

If you sign up for the newsletter, we process your email address to send you that newsletter: a few times a year, without discount codes. If you leave your email address for a stock notice on a product, we use it only for that one message. If you leave your email address on a waiting list, we use it only to tell you when the thing you are waiting for is available: one message, no newsletter. In all of these cases we confirm your signup by email first (double opt-in); without that confirmation we send nothing. Sending is done by a specialised email service provider working on our instructions. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. We never sell or share your address for other purposes.

Retention periods

We keep order data for as long as tax retention rules require (seven years for accounting records in the Netherlands). Customer service emails are kept for at most two years after the matter is closed. Analytics data is processed in anonymised form and kept no longer than necessary. Chat conversations with Jennifer are kept for as long as they are needed to improve her answers; if you ask us to delete them, we do.

Cookies

Functional cookies (such as your bag) are needed to make the shop work and require no consent. We only set analytics cookies after you click accept in the cookie banner; declining is exactly as easy and has no consequences whatsoever for your order.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Email support@wienerandco.com to exercise them; we respond within a month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with your local supervisory authority.
